The Allocations Office is responsible for the organisation and co-ordination of clinical placements for the BSc Nursing (Intellectual Disability, General and Mental Health) and Midwifery programmes. Clinical placements are an important component of the BSc Nursing/Midwifery programme and are undertaken in a variety of healthcare settings throughout the HSE West and HSE South.

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), the body which regulates Nursing and Midwifery in Ireland, specify recommendations regarding placement type and duration for each programme. The function of the Allocations Office in the University of Limerick is to ensure that each nursing and midwifery student is afforded the opportunity to gain experience in the clinical areas stipulated in NMBI Nurse Registration and Midwifery Registration Standards & Requirements. Pre-placement requirements are also co-ordinated from this office and include mandatory training and health screening.

The Clinical Allocations Office is located on the ground floor of the Health Science Building.  If you have any queries regarding Clinical Allocations please contact one of the Clinical Allocations Office Staff.
