The examination will take place after Leaving Certificate results are issues and prior to second round CAO results. 

Time:  2:30pm – 5pm

The Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Limerick (UL) offer a special entrance mathematics examination to give Leaving Certificate students a second chance to pursue a course of study in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.  The following programmes have also been included:  LM092; LM094; LM095; LM096 and LM097.

The special mathematics examination is for students who achieve sufficient CAO entry points and satisfy all other entrance requirements, but who do not achieve the requisite grade in Mathematics (Higher only) in the Leaving Certificate. 

The examination is based on the Leaving Certificate Curriculum in the Higher Paper Only.

The examination will take place prior to second round CAO results at the University of Limerick.

Structure:  The Paper will examine the Leaving Certificate Syllabus – Higher Level Mathematics, Papers 1 & 2.  There are 2 sections to the paper:

Section A: Answer any 5 of the 6 questions, each question is worth 30 marks.

Section B: Answer any 3 of the 4 questions, each question is worth 50 marks.

Duration: 2.5 Hours:  2:30pm – 5pm
